Hi,
I’m experiencing an issue with my printer during two different stages of the printing process.
Phase One: When I click on the print option, the printing window appears on my computer screen. It initially shows “ready to print” but then goes through the following steps:
- Searching for printer
- Establishing connection with printer
- Initiating printing process
After these steps, it displays a message saying “Printing – The printer is in use” and stops without actually printing anything.
During this time, there are no indications of activity on the printer screen. It remains on the regular home screen.
I have attempted several troubleshooting steps including turning off and on the printer, unplugging it, restarting my computer, and even removing and reinserting the ink cartridges based on suggestions from this forum. However, none of these actions have made any difference in resolving the issue.
Phase Two: In some instances where I have persisted in trying to print, the print job has managed to reach the printer successfully and started printing. However, midway through printing a page (after completing half of it), it suddenly stops and displays a message on the printer screen saying “printing cancelled.” The icon indicating printing activity continues spinning for a short while with the same message before eventually stopping and returning to the home screen mode. As a result, the entire printing task remains unfinished.
Upon attempting to print again after this occurrence, I encounter the same problem of being stuck at “printer in use” as described in Phase One.
It’s important to note that all these attempts at printing are being made using a wireless internet connection.
As an additional test, I tried scanning a document to see if there were any issues with connecting and sending it wirelessly to my email. Surprisingly, this function worked perfectly fine without any hiccups.
I would greatly appreciate any assistance or advice you can provide to help resolve this frustrating printing problem.
Thank you
